The challenge

The multi-family office operates across Asia, Europe and the Middle East and needed to support a large and diverse client base without continuously expanding its investment team.

Its existing workflows across research, risk management, portfolio construction, modelling, reporting and monitoring were too fragmented and manual to scale efficiently. The firm also needed to maintain consistent audit trails and daily reporting across thousands of client portfolios.

The solution

PRAAMS automated the firm’s end-to-end asset management workflow.

The platform now supports data, research and risk management across more than 400,000 instruments, alongside portfolio construction, management, modelling, backtesting, forecasting, optimisation, rebalancing and reporting.

A team of just four analysts can cover a global investment universe while receiving on-demand analysis of news, sector developments, company reports and regulatory filings. The same infrastructure also serves as the firm’s core risk management system.

This created one integrated environment for investment analysis, portfolio decision-making and ongoing client oversight.

The business impact

The operational gains were substantial.

Time required to build a tailored client portfolio fell by 95%, from more than two weeks to less than one day. Portfolio modelling time decreased by 80%, while trade idea generation became 65% faster across a global investment universe.

The firm is also able to maintain daily reporting and audit trails for more than 2,500 clients.

The result

The biggest impact was scalability.

The number of client portfolios handled by a single manager increased from around 15 to more than 200.

The firm effectively transformed its operating model: a small investment team can now support global research coverage, institutional risk management and thousands of client portfolios through a single automated investment infrastructure.
